This project has several aims:
1) To demonstrate the diversity of cyclists in the Marrickville Council Area and surrounds;
2) To demonstrate that cycling is mainstream;
3) To gain more support for building cycle paths and cycling infrastructure;
4) To create awareness for the 350ppm target CO2 required to stabilise our climate.
About the Photographic Setup
The photographer is making a typology.
By keeping the photo setup the same, it is easier to see the diversity.
The photographs are taken from two angles:
A) 90 degrees to the bike, with the cyclist behind the bike, facing the camera and the front wheel to the cyclists left side.
B) As above but taken 45 degrees to the bike and the cyclist turned to face the camera.
Some example photos will make it clear so comeback soon to see more.
What will happen to the photographs
They will be exhibited in one or more of the following ways depending on funding and timing:
1) Online via Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket, Facebook;
2) A real exhibition in the Inner West;
3) A photo book to be presented to council for reference.

How to Contact the Photographer or be updated by email
To show the colour and diversity of cyclists in the Marrickville Council area, the photographic catchment includes cyclists that live or work in or around the Council Area. For convenience and privacy, the exact trip origin and destination of each cyclist was mostly not clearly identified.
Some Cycle Couriers working in Sydney CBD were included as they often live or play in the Inner West area.
The photographer is a cycing advocate and before the project began personally knew around 70 cyclists in the area. Some of these have been included in the profiles, but the priority was to capture cyclists not know through his advocacy networks.
Volunteer Self Funded
The whole project is self funded by the amateur photographer and performed in the photographers own time on a mid range digital camera. Therefore the precision and professional nature of the project had some limitations. Never the less, he has made a huge effort to meet new cyclists and caputure Marrickville's diversity.
