Dear Cycling Enthusiast
Ever thought of experiencing New Years Eve with 6000 other people, 12 stages of music with music acts including famous blues, roots, dub, reggae, world, music, rock acts and so on all within the confines of the lush setting of Glenworth Valley (home of the largest horseriding farm in Australia) on the doorstep of Sydney and the Central Coast. This venue offers a river to cool off and also places to cycle within the confines of this venue.
If so then consider Cycling to the Peats Ridge Music Festival 29th Dec - 1st January and camp for three days at an event as part of an organised service. There will be dedicated bicycle parking for those who cycle to the event including special performances by musicians in the Rebycycle headquarters. Also there will be a dedicated bike courier service as well as recycled bikes offered for patrons. One of the best ways to get to Peats Ridge Festival is by bike. As part of our commitment to sustainable transport initiatives, we encourage ‘active transport’ – cycling and walking in combination with public transport - and provide a network of support for those of you that decide to visit us on two wheels.
Rebycycle the recycled bike and Earn A Bike Program are hosting a chaperoned ride and cyclists support vehicle from Hawkesbury River station (on the Gosford/Newcastle line). To take advantage of this service, take the train to Hawkesbury River from North or South and you will be met by a support vehicle that will transport your camping gear and any other luggage to the Festival site letting you ride the comfortable 27km journey weight-free. The service also includes a cycle buddy with each group who will ride with you and show the way to the Festival. Best of all the whole service costs you nothing!
On site there will be racks throughout to park your bike (although please remember to bring your bike locks!) and Rebycycle will also be offering a free bicycle repair service and bike hire at the Festival. We have a camping space reserved especially for cyclists, where there will be a bike rack and peaceful space to pitch your tent. Cyclists will also be entitled to make use of the Tent Hotel Lounge, a relaxing space to catch up with friends or listen to one of the bands from the Festival who will be dropping in from time to time to play an exclusive acoustic set.
If you’re travelling to Peats Ridge Festival by bike and you’d like to make use of the chaperoned cycle service, please email your interest
or any offer of support at cycle@peatsridgefestival.com.au
In association with the Peats Ridge Event Management Team Council is keen to promote cycling for all its benefits as a means to reduce traffic congestion especially for short trips. With your support and by alerting people to this pilot initiative in NSW then the option may exist to promote cycling to other large events.
Visit Peats Ridge Festival for more information on this great non-profit initiative.
Hope to see you there !
