SYDNEY PARK MOUNTAIN BIKE AND SKATE FACILITY

Sydney-Park-mountain-bikeB.jpg

Massbug has launched a campaign to have a BMX track and BMX/Skate bowl built at Sydney Park.

While there are many playgrounds in the City of Sydney, there is no BMX track or bowl and only a plaza-style skating facility in Waterloo and a half-pipe in Glebe. The BMX and skating facilities in nearby suburbs but are too distant to be easily accessed by children and teenagers, and are already heavily used.

There is plenty of space in Sydney Park to develop mountain bike, BMX and skating facilities, without unduly intruding upon other users of the park. The need for such facilities is recognised in the City of Sydney Skate Strategy 2006, Open Space and Recreational Needs Study and the May 2006 Masterplan for Sydney Park.

Please sign the online Petition asking City of Sydney to develop these facilities. Go to

There will also be paper copies of the petition at shops like Hell on Wheels on King St Newtown. Please do not sign both online and paper petitions.

thanks ,

John
