Deal with the problem of storm water drain grates causing cycle accidents. (Width of grates). A plan of East West cycle /pedestrian cross overs that cut across the major traffic and arterial roads. We also want the DPP to allow offenders sentenced to community service be allowed to complete their penalty by working towards the planned and identified cycle ways. Lobby Federal and State Govts that registered cycle users are given incentives to encourage the general population to use cycles. EG Tax rebate for purchase of cycle That all Development applications approved by council must have secured cycle racks included in design and that unit designs include cycle storage space within basements, garages and in some cases a collective cycle storage space. We also advocate where possible that new buildings be set back from footpath and roadway to allow safe cycle passage ways.
